PETALING JAYA: The sultan of Selangor today expressed concern over what he considered violations of health SOPs, as the first month of the recovery movement control order which lifted a nationwide lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic ends this week.
Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah said he had witnessed the public ignoring guidelines including for the wearing of face masks and social distancing. In a statement issued by the Selangor palace, the ruler said he was worried that if the public ignored practices under the new norms, there would be a second wave of Covid-19 infections which have so far claimed 121 lives in Malaysia.
