The royal family have shared a heart-warming message about the late Queen Elizabeth II and revealed touching details about the life of Britain’s longest reigning Monarch.
Buckingham Palace in a social media post on Friday said they were remembering the “incredible life and legacy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II” on her birthday.
The royal family in the statement on Friday revealed that “Princess Elizabeth and her family did not expect that she would one day become Queen”. With her succession, her husband Prince Phillip was elevated to consort and became the longest-serving royal consort in history.The Queen went on to become “Britain’s longest reigning Monarch” and was the first in history to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee.The 96-year-old was known for her neutrality when it came to political matters, her lifetime of state and overseas visits and charitable organisations.
“During this period of mourning and change, my family and I will be comforted and sustained by our knowledge of the respect and deep affection in which The Queen was so widely held.”
