Rain or Shine aims to give Barangay Ginebra’s new additions a rude welcome when it guns for win No. 2 in the first out-of-town game of the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup at the Candon Arena in Ilocos Sur on Saturday, Aug. 24.
The Elasto Painters are aiming for the early lead in the Group B standings in the 6 p.m. affair where the Kings are also expected to parade their newest weapons in rookie RJ Abarrientos, and acquisitions Stephen Holt and Isaac Go.
Fuller looked to be tailor-fit to head coach Yeng Guiao’s system after dropping 24 points and 19 rebounds although he is set to be pitted against Ginebra’s resident import Justin Brownlee who is coming off a splendid showing with Gilas Pilipinas in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Latvia and a championship with Pelita Jaya in the Indonesian league.
It will also be Brownlee’s return to the PBA after a long layoff as he was not fielded by Ginebra during the last season’s Commissioner’s Cup owing to his sanction with FIBA and World Anti-Doping Agency last year.
