Ronwen Williams is expected to join his new Mamelodi Sundowns teammates in KZN today, with an announcement from both the DStv Premiership champions and SuperSport United set to be made in the next 48 hours.
According to information received by the Siya crew, Williams has completed his move to Sundowns from SuperSport and will fly out to KZN to join his new teammates, where they are currently preparing for the Mangosuthu Legacy Cup. The Bafana Bafana captain has penned a three-year contract, with an option to extend for a further two years.
An announcement from both SuperSport and Sundowns is imminent. The 30-year-old has been with SuperSport throughout his career and has hardly had competition for the number one spot. Now he will have to battle it out with Denis Onyango, Kennedy Mweene and Reyaad Pieterse. Jody February is back at Sundowns, but looks set to be loaned out again after spending last season with Swallows FC.
SuperSport, meanwhile, are still trying to get Gift Motupa from Sundowns, with the player seen as a good option upfront for new coach Gavin Hunt.
