While Al Nassr were on a counter towards the end of the first half, the match official blew for half-time, leading to a furious reaction from Ronaldo. Ronaldo angrily launched the ball up the field in response to the referee's whistle before storming off the field in a fit of rage. This resulted in the forward earning a yellow card.

Al Nassr recently gave up their first position in the Saudi pro League table after a surprise 1-0 defeat to Al-Ittihad. Following the aforementioned defeat, Ronaldo also appeared to upset as he kicked a couple of water bottles in frustration.
