We chat with MortalKombatLegendsSnowBlind star RonYuan about going from Scorpion to Sub-Zero, his character's emotional redemption arc, and more. The film is now available to own on Blu-ray & digital platforms!

Earthrealm is in desperate need of a hero in Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind. The latest animated movie based on the iconic fighting game takes place in a post-apocalyptic future in which Kano now reigns over much of the world with Shang Tsung as his subservient, and will find the rebel warrior Kenshi in desperate need of training in order to help restore peace to the realm.

Ron Yuan on Mortal Kombat Legends Screen Rant: As a Mortal Kombat fan, I'm really excited to talk about Snow Blind. I watched it earlier, and it's quite a fun and interesting development for the franchise. You've been with the franchise for a bit now, but how did you join Snow Blind? Ron Yuan: I think for me, it was the ability to be able to make this guy relatable to us as an audience. It's really grounding him, and the director and everyone involved was on the same trip, too. This guy's been through hell and back, but he's at ease, he's gone to a place where it's just habitual stuff, he's in his own habitat every day, away from drama. But then, he gets pulled back into this world.

I've definitely noticed that, since the 2008 reboot of Mortal Kombat, they have really been able to get back to story. I know that sometimes with voiceover work in animation, you can have scenes to work with. Did you have any artwork or any scenes to get to work on while you were doing the voice work, or did you just have the script to go off of?

You do a great job with it, because this elderly, or older, Sub-Zero is really a fascinating one to watch.
