Ron Johnson wants to personally question Capitol police officers over the Jan. 6 riot

Johnson said he is particularly interested in discrepancies about how the West Terrace door – through which, he said, roughly 38% of Capitol rioters entered the building – came to be ajar shortly after rioters inside the building failed to open it. Johnson suggested Capitol Police officers may be the culprits, seizing on security camera footage that “appeared to show… [an] officer gesturing towards the door” when it was opened, as well as footage that showed a group of five officers putting up little resistance to the rioters and, at one point, talking to them.
