Brendan Rodgers has stated Celtic must take points against Atletico Madrid to keep European hopes alive.
Brendan Rodgers is under no illusions that Celtic must take points against Atletico Madrid to keep their Champions League hopes alive.
Rodgers' side drew 2-2 with Atletico at Parkhead last time out but lose at home to Lazio and away against Feyenoord earlier in the calendar. Asked if Celtic need a positive result to keep alive ambitions of European football beyond Christmas, Rodgers said: “There is no doubt, we are not daft, we know this is a game where we want to get a positive result to take into the final two games,”
“We maybe haven’t had quite the level of results and points on the board, especially in the last two games, that we deserve, but we are very happy with the performance levels.“I think we played well in the three games. As each game has gone on, the level of performance has been better.
