Chalk on the Block at Bagby Park will feature a live chalk event where art comes to life before our eyes.
The oversized art will set the stage for the event’s live chalk art, a medium Salinas says is interactive.
“People can be a little bit intimidated,” by traditional forms of art, she says. “To be able to see that art can be created with chalk, as opposed to something permanent … it’s a material we can use without any fear.” Rebekah Tee, an art teacher at Spring Woods High School in Spring Branch Independent School District, has been a chalk artist for approximately 20 years.
