SAN ANTONIO - The City of Boerne has released new details on the partial bleacher collapse at a Boerne rodeo that injured a dozen people last weekend.According to the City of Boerne , the Fire Marshal 's Office inspected the grounds Aug. 30 however the newly built bleachers were not part of it since there wasn't a newly submitted building permit.
City records show no building permits have been issued since January of 2023. The city says the bleachers were an old structure that was salvaged and were being worked on up until the day before the event."We are particularly concerned for the 79-year-old woman who was critically injured and our hearts go out to her and her family during this difficult time," said Boerne Fire Chief Manny Casarez.
