The City of Rocky River ran a friendly political campaign in the Nov. 7 election. But some wouldn’t believe that with several races that were squeaky-close.

Rocky River attracted plenty of voters to their voting location at the Umerley Civic Center on Sept. 7, 2023.ROCKY RIVER, Ohio –

The Rocky River Muny Court Judge race was a close one even though Joe Burke clearly won the contest on what appeared to be the highest number of campaign signs around the city. Burke ended with 15,340 Votes against Thomas Kelly with 15,060 votes . In third place was Karen Kelly Kraus with 11,390 votes .The top three of four Council-At-Large contenders were: Christina Morris , David Furry and Brian Sindelar . Andrew J. Vitaliti came in behind the three with 3,345 votes—20.08 percent).

In the Ward races, also close, in Ward 1 Thomas Hunt came in ahead of Lisa Havemann by only 34 votes and in Ward 2 Michael O’Boyle came in ahead of James Moran also by 34 votes.In Ward 4, an upset was in the making when Paul Shipp passed long-time councilman John Shepherd by 467 votes .
