Roadway to reopen at 2 p.m. Friday under “best case scenario.”
EL DORADO COUNTY – A rockslide has closed both directions of Highway 50 at Echo Summit, officials said.In a social media post, Caltrans District 3 said the highway was scheduled to be closed for the rest of the day.
The post included a photo of a massive boulder blocking both lanes.Blasting to remove the boulder is set to begin at 5 a.m. Friday. Under the “best case scenario,” the roadway will reopen by 2 p.m., according to California Highway Patrol dispatch logs.
