, Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. has told professional sports teams whose games are carried on three of its regional sports networks that it plans to exit the RSN business entirely within the next several weeks.
In a letter reviewed by the Wall Street Journal, teams were warned that “the business will not have sufficient cash to pay the upcoming rights fees.” Teams were also told that Warner Bros. Discovery “will not fund our shortfalls.”In a statement provided to The Denver Post, Warner Brothers Discovery said: “AT&T SportsNet is not immune to the well-known challenges that the entire RSN industry is facing.
