The Rockies’ youth movement continued Monday when they traded veteran left-hander Jalen Beeks to Pittsburgh for Double-A lefty prospect Luis Peralta, a major source confirmed.

In six professional seasons, Peralta is 9-19 with eight saves, a 4.20 ERA, 157 walks and 360 strikeouts in appearances . Pittsburgh originally signed him as a non-drafted international free agent on July 3, 2017.Beeks, 31, has been Colorado’s most versatile reliever and was often used in the closer role. He’s 6-4 with a 4.74 ERA and nine saves in 16 chances. Beeks is eligible for free agency after this season.U.S.
