Major League Baseball’s new pitch clock is going to take some getting used to. You can ask Rockies left-hander Kyle Freeland about that.
Making his first Cactus League start on Sunday against Milwaukee, Freeland struggled a bit with the new rule, which gives pitchers 15 seconds to deliver a pitch with nobody on base and 20 seconds if there is a baserunner. Freeland gave up three runs on six hits over three innings.for the first time this spring and he told MLB.com that he’s still getting used to it.No. 1 prospect Zac Veen, penciled in to begin the regular season at Double-A Hartford, is making a lot of noise early in camp.
