📬 New Rockies Mailbag: • Bud Black's future • Colorado's trade deadline • Ezequiel Tovar's injury • And more... via psaundersdp

Grant, through the years, I’ve asked a lot of players that question. On the record, they say they’re fine with it. They say they just like playing in front of a big crowd. Off the record, however, a number of players have told me that it bugs them when they hear all of the cheers and chants for the other team, and see all of the colors in the stands for the opponent.

Plus, after giving multiple players contract extensions over the last nine months, plus signing Kris Bryant to a seven-year, $182 contract, the Rockies are not going to “tear it down.” I wrote about this extensively in myWhat are the Rockies doing ? They’re not close to competing and their farm system is ranked towards the bottom. Why not make trades and start to rebuild? Rockies fans will obviously come regardless of wins and losses.

It is my understanding that Kris Bryant’s natural position is third base. It seems that Kris’ playing in the outfield makes him possibly more prone to injury. Why don’t the Rockies play him at third base, especially since Ryan McMahon has not been productive lately, leaving McMahon’s status to be reassessed?Judy, there has been no talk about Bryant playing third base here. The Rockies signed him to be an outfielder and an occasional designated hitter.
