What’s going on with German Marquez right now? He’s been struggling for a long time. If we go back to the beginning of last August, he’s 3-6 with a 6.45 ERA in 16 starts. That’s hardly the all-star we watched in the first half of the year. Is there a nagging injury? Is he just not in the right frame of mind?Ron, Marquez’s struggles are the Rockies’ No. 1 issue right now. The way he’s pitching makes him the weak link in the rotation and is a big cause for concern.
I checked with FanGraphs and its data shows that Marquez’s fastball velocity is fine — 95.2 mph on average.Patrick, I heard Major League Baseball is following the NFL’s route and planning more games out to London in the coming years.
