During the first 11 days, teams averaged 1.3 stolen bases per 1.7 attempts for a 79.6% success rate. During last season, teams averaged 1.0 stolen bases per 1.3 attempts for a 74.0 success rate.
Urena is on a short leash. He needs to pitch much better Wednesday afternoon against the Cardinals or the Rockies will be forced to make a change, in my opinion. Lambert, currently pitching at Triple-A Albuquerque, struggled during spring training and I don’t believe he’s the answer, at least not right now. The most likely option is to turn to right-hander Connor Seabold, currently the Rockies’ long reliever, although right now he could probably only pitch three or four innings.
