Rockets must find tricky balance as they try to end long skid
Rockets coach Stephen Silas has been witness to plenty of unsightly basketball during his team's 12-game losing streak. They'll try again to end the skid Saturday in Minneapolis.Mired in a 12-game losing streak, and with losses in 17 of 18 games in a stretch that has dragged on for more than a month, there was plenty to fill the time of the Rockets' video and practice sessions Friday.
“There should be some urgency around it, but we also seem to be tight and finding that balance is really hard to do,” coach Stephen Silas said. “But we're trying to make it more specific. So, there's certain things that each guy can work on so that it takes kind of the pressure of the grand scheme of things out of it and makes it more of, ‘I've got to work more on my help and recover.’ ‘I've got to work more on my transition defense.’ ‘I've got to work more on ball defense.
“I would say just the fact that we've had really good stretches of play, but the bad stretches have really affected us,” Silas said. “You know, when we … had that good stretch of play, the mistakes, or the runs that the other teams made, didn't affect us in the same way that they are now.
