Rockets point guard Kevin Porter Jr. missed his first game of the season on Friday when he was ruled out of that evening’s contest against the Pacers due to a sore left lower back.“Yesterday he came in and was just kind of complaining about it and they did treatment and this morning it was a little bit worse, I guess, stiffened up,” Silas said. “He was out with us during shootaround but he had a heat pack on his back and wasn't walking great.
Porter and backcourt mate Jalen Green were the only players to start in each of the Rockets’ first 15 games prior to Friday. With Porter unavailable against the Pacers, K.J. Martin took his place in the Rockets’ starting lineup. Silas said increased ball-handling duties would fall to Green, Eric Gordon, Daishen Nix and Josh Christopher.More Rockets News
