CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Rockets did not think the game was meaningless, and in at least one respect, it was not.

“It’s a good sign,” Green said. “We’re ending strong. We’re showing we have chemistry together. We’re showing that we play well together. Everyone’s playing their part. We’re ending the season right.”the win against the Nuggets on Tuesday“It shows that we have a solid foundation for the future,” Rockets coach Stephen Silas said. “It shows that these guys work, work, work constantly and want to do the right things.

The Rockets’ leading scorers, Green and Porter, each had 26, Porter getting his on just 13 shots. But the Rockets got wins because key players did more than just what they do best. Green added six assists, the eighth consecutive game he had four or more, one shy of the longest streak of his career. Porter added five assists.

Most conspicuously, however, Sengun had a career high 21 rebounds, and he did it on a night that he missed his first four shots but did not let up, much as he missed his first four shots on Tuesday but turned in his finest defensive game as his usual offensive production came around.
