Officials from the Rochester Police Department and the Urban League of Rochester announce a new partnership Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024.
Rochester, N.Y. — A new effort aims to improve the relationship between police and the community in the city.announced a new partnership Wednesday morning. Police will be able to use Urban League resources to connect with the community. It also includes a collaborative workspace where police officers and the Urban League can discuss ways both sides can better serve the community."Through this partnership, the RPD will be closer to the community in a safe and non-threatening way," said Candice Lucas, the Urban League's senior vice president of equity and advocacy.
