People around Rochester celebrated the Jewish holiday with a community menorah lighting at Washington Square Park. 'Hanukkah really is about publicity, taking the message of religious freedom of the struggle for that which is good and just even if the struggle seems to be difficult, it's against the odds, but the faith of god will come through for us and help us do the right thing,' said Rabbi Nechemia Vogel, director, Chabad of Rochester. 'There's something special about joining with others and really being public about it and telling the world we are proud of who we are.' There will be menorah lightings for each night of Hanukkah around the region. Below is a list of all the dates and locations.
