A huge well done to everyone who took part

The Robin Hood Half Marathon 2022 saw thousands of runners cheered on by crowds as the annual race returned to Nottingham. The half marathon began just after 9.30am on Sunday, September 25, and was shortly followed by the mini marathon which saw children run alongside their parents on a shorter route at 10am.

Kadar Omar, 26, finished the half marathon in just over 65 minutes - a blazingly quick time that made him the day's fastest runner. Anthony Woodward, 38, who lives in Leicestershire but is part of a Nottinghamshire running club, came second in the half marathon with a time of one hour and nine minutes.

He said conditions were 'perfect' in Nottingham for the half marathon. "I've done it five times now, and that's the best time I've done it in. I won it a few years ago in 2019, I did last year as well but I was a lot slower as it was the week before the London Marathon so I had to not over-do it," Mr Woodward said.

Sarah Lowery was the first woman to cross the finish line, ending the route with a time of one hour, 23 minutes and 46 seconds. Runners Jo Henstock, 35, and Shelia Emery, 58, agreed the dry and cloudy morning was favourable for the race.
