'Possession' remake director and 'Smile 2' helmer Parker Finn previews 'crazy' film with Robert Pattinson: 'We're planning a viciously sharp, crazy, insane film.'
"Smile 2" helmer Parker Finn tells EW what he has planned for Pattinson's upcoming turn in the film based on Sam Neill's 1981 cult classic.Entertainment Weekly's Oscars expert, 'RuPaul's Drag Race' beat reporter, host of 'Quick Drag' Twitter Spaces, and cohost of 'EW's BINGE' podcast. "We're planning a viciously sharp, crazy, insane film," Finn says. "It's going to have all the teeth and ferocity that the original had, but I want to do something that pays homage and honors the original but is also a spiritual successor that's in dialogue with the original, that has some new explorations in it.
"I feel like I'm making this film obviously for a big audience, but I want to make this film also for the fans of the original," Finn says. "I hope people give it a chance!"picks up in the days following the grim ending of its predecessor and features the return of the first film's, who portrayed Joel, a police officer who inherited a deadly curse after witnessing his friend, Rose kill herself in front of him after she was possessed by an evil entity.
