On December 25, Eggers’s vision of the undead predator will finally hit screens, with Bill Skarsgård in the title role as Count Orlok, though the face of the monster will be very different from the one onscreen more than a century ago. Part of the appeal of Eggers’s films is their time-warp quality. He has been praised for creating a sense of historical authenticity in his films.
