The men, joined by a fourth accomplice, took an unspecified amount of cash and jewelry from a residence on the 3100 block of Wilshire Boulevard and committed an assault at around 2:40 a.m., police said. Officer Drake Madison said three of the thieves wore black ski masks and 'all-black police-style uniforms' and the fourth wore a grey hooded sweatshirt. At least one carried a black semiautomatic handgun, Madison said. The thieves, who Madison said took a 'large sum' of cash and jewelry, fled the scene after the assault and robbery. When police and paramedics arrived, the assault victim declined an offer to take an ambulance to the hospital, Madison said.
