Rob McElhenney, along with Ryan Reynolds, are owners of Welsh club Wrexham.
Speaking in the new series of Welcome To Wrexham , McElhenney revealed he sanctioned an all-black third kit, without knowing the colour was banned in the National League.
The American said: “We felt like it would be something that people would be proud to wear, so to see those out on the pitch it's been awesome .However, since the Premier League started in 1993, clubs have been allowed to wear black.Last summer, after Wrexham secured promotion to League Two, the all-black third kit was launched.
McElhenney wrote on social media at the time: “I’ve been trying to get this one made for 3 years. Under national league rule, we couldn’t have a black kit. Not a problem anymore ;).”He told SPORTbible: "There's nothing to say that Jamie Vardy wouldn't be a great Wrexham player. "It's not a name I've had mentioned inside the building before but, you know, age and profile wouldn't put us off."Manchester United are looking to include Maguire in a deal to sign one of the best defenders in the Premier League.
