The busy main road is closed for three months to allow for a new junction to be added
A busy road controversially closed due to a property development will temporarily reopen today to allow for Creamfields traffic.
But Halton Council has now confirmed the road will be reopened between August 21 and 30 to accommodate traffic heading to Creamfields. Creamfields North will run between August 24 and August 27 in Daresbury, Cheshire.The ECHO previously reported how residents in Moore raised concerns the closure of the Daresbury Express would result in the nearby country lanes being used as rat runs.
Halton Council disagreed there was not enough warning about the closure - and the "vast majority" of traffic follows the diversion routes effectively. A spokesperson for Redrow north west it was working with the council to "minimise the impact to the local community". "The closure is to allow for Redrow to carry out work on their new housing development. A diversion route will go along the A56 Chester Road to the A533 Southern Expressway then along the A533 Central Expressway and back on to the A558 Daresbury Expressway."
