The Dis-Chem Ride for Sight will be held in Boksburg south in and around the city stadium on Jubilee Road on February 19.
The affected roads are Jubilee Road around the stadium, Barry Marias Road, Essenhout, Keurboom, North Boundary Road [R554], the R103 in the Vosloorus Roodekop and Alrode areas, the R23 from Heidelberg and the R554 in the Carnival City areas.
Residents in the area who need to enter or exit their property should call the Communication JOC on 087 550 2482 to be escorted through the closed area. Residents using North Boundary Road from Carnival City should be extra cautious as cyclists will be changing lanes from the left lane to the right lane before they turn right into Keurboom Road.
Claudette Medefindt, race secretary, appealed to all residents to show caution and friendliness to the cyclists who will be cycling to restore the gift of sight.
