BREAKING: Emergency services close main road as fire crews tackle huge car blaze near Stretford
Emergency services were called to the incident at around 4.15pm as the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service worked at the scene with officers from GMP. The road remains closed currently.Live traffic service Inrix reported that the northbound carriageway had been blocked, as Transport for Greater Manchester tweeted: "A56 Chester Road is blocked northbound from M60 Junction 7 to Barton Road, Stretford, due to a police incident.
Greater Manchester Police and the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service have been approached for more details.
