RM800 million in outstanding RTD summonses since 2010

The Road Transport Department will take action against motorists who have yet to pay their outstanding summonses by blacklisting them when they renew their driving licences, its director-general Shaharuddin Khalid said today. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, July 13, 2020.

A TOTAL of 2.7 million Road Transport Department summonses worth RM800 million, involving various traffic offences in the past 10 years have yet to be settled, said director-general Shaharuddin Khalid. “The summonses cover offences such as speeding, using a mobile phone while driving and not having valid driving licence.
