RM4.5mil worth of drugs seized in Klang Valley

KUALA LUMPUR: Some RM4.5mil worth of drugs have been seized following raids in the Klang Valley.

Acting Kuala Lumpur police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Yahaya Othman said a 29-year-old local man was detained during the operation on Friday and Saturday ."We detained the male suspect and seized 114kg of syabu," he told a press conference at Kuala Lumpur police headquarters on Tuesday ."The unit was used by the syndicate as storage for drugs.According to DCP Yahaya, initial investigations found that the syndicate had been operating for two months.

The syndicate attempted to evade the authorities by choosing a luxury vehicle to distribute the drugs and a condominium unit for storage, DCP Yahaya said.He urged those with information on drug-related offences and activities to contact the police without delay."Together we can combat the drug menace effectively," he added.
