It is learnt that the victim carried out more than 20 transactions, transferring more than RM1.5mil to various accounts within three weeks. Sources said the man, in his 20s, was asked to download an app to track his investment and another app that supposedly would allow him to make withdrawals of his returns and principal at the end of each month.
The businessman brushed off the caller saying that he had got the wrong person as he had never worked in Singapore. It is learnt that the businessman subsequently started transferring huge amounts of money over a period of one week, totalling more than RM250,000, into various accounts.
