Riverdale season 7's musical episode has been revealed in a set of new first-look images. The series, which is a reimagining of the iconic Archie Comics characters Archie , Jughead , Betty , Veronica , and more, originally premiered on The CW in 2017.

The episode follows Kevin and Clay hoping to put on a musical they wrote, will be the first Riverdale musical episode to feature all-original songs. So far, it has not been revealed who wrote the songs, but the images reveal some seemingly Grease-inspired moments including a full-tilt dance number on the school steps.

The musicals that have previously been featured in the series include Carrie: The Musical , Heathers: The Musical , Hedwig and the Angry Inch , Next to Normal , and American Psycho .
This tradition was kicked off in season 2 with Carrie thanks to creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's fondness for the material. While the show's musical episodes are also some of its most divisive, there has been at least one per season since the initial Carrie experiment.
