The Buccaneers got their seventh win of the season with a 4-1 thrashing of Stellenbosch. On the day, four different Pirates players got their names on the score sheet and Riveiro said this is an indication the competition for starting places in the squad and warned that no player would have an automatic spot.
"I’ve said to the guys [players] that there are many players that are trying to be in the starting eleven, many," Riveiro told journalists. "That makes things difficult for me and easy at the same time, because there’s many players prepared and and in the right mindset to be in the starting eleven. Unfortunately we can only select and then the five substitutes.Both Vincent Pule and Terrence Dzvukamanja came off the bench against Golden Arrows and scored a goal each to help the Buccaneers seal their first win of the year. The pair came on once more against Stellenbosch, and were instrumental in the side’s two second-half goals.
"You see the way the players come from the bench, the way they come. They are hungry and trying to contribute. It doesin’t matter if they played 20 [minutes] or 10. it is what we're looking for." "It’s a kind of dream for the coach. To have the chance to keep everyone involved us and that’s going to be the key for us."
