Many parents across the country are feeling the heat even though summer is still a few months away. That's because summer camp prices are soaring across the United States.
We can't afford for both of them to be in full-time camp for 2 1/2 months. It's not...it's not possible," said Jamie Aderski, a mother of two who lives New Jersey with her husband.on TikTok. Most rack up a couple thousand views, including her most recent one focused on the recent hike in summer camp prices.Trying to enroll her two kids in summer camp, not only did Aderski see higher prices, but she said in some cases there were mandatory deposits and additional fees.
"There was another camp that I was looking at but they wanted me to put $2,000 down and I'm like I don't have $2,000 cash to put down," Aderski said.by Summer Camp Hub, overnight camps in 2024 cost an average of $175-$325/day. Day camps are a little less, costing $70-$120. But add those numbers up for two, four, six or even eight weeks and that's thousands of dollars.
Inflation is an issue that cuts across all categories and increases the cost of many goods and services including summer camp," Economides said.
