A public spat has broken out between Rishi Sunak and Boris Johnson ally Zac Goldsmith who quit as a minister after refusing to apologise for criticising the Commons Partygate inquiry singharj reports:

He said he was “horrified” to see the Kept Animals Bill “ditched” and attacked Mr Sunak for being absent from international environment summits like Cop27, criticising him for attending Mr Murdoch’s party last week instead of the “critically important” Paris Summit for a New Global Financing Pact.

In his two-page resignation letter, Lord Goldsmith wrote: “Prime Minister, having been able to get so much done previously, I have struggled even to hold the line in recent months. He said the Government was “going far beyond other countries” and delivering progress while bringing down energy bills., despite it coming after a U-turn amid political pressure, and stressed that he had “reconfirmed” the £11.6bn climate finance pledge at the Egypt gathering.
