Rishi Sunak will today seek to move on from the latest Boris Johnson drama with a new push on technology and tax policy HugoGye reports

The Prime Minister’s predecessor warned that the Conservative Party “needs urgently to recapture its sense of momentum” as heAllies of Mr Sunak insisted that his policy agenda was delivering the promises of the last election manifesto, despite the rise in taxation and delays to key pledges.said the Government was “following a fundamentally Conservative approach to the world”.

“I just think that Boris is referring to a particular set of circumstances in which he was involved as prime minister. I think the country really wants to move on and they’ve got that with the priorities of going for growth.”, warning that the UK cannot take its position as a leading technological power for granted in a fast-changing economic landscape.

The Prime Minister is expected to say: “We must act – and act quickly – if we want not only to retain our position as one of the world’s tech capitals but to go even further, and make this the best country in the world to start, grow and invest in tech businesses. That is my goal. And I feel a sense of urgency and responsibility to make sure we seize it.”
