When breathed in, it can trigger asthma attacks, aggravate lung diseases, and spark coughing fits.Copernicus, the European Union’s satellite monitoring service, has been tracking a surge in ozone pollution across southern Europe since the start of the heatwave. In Portugal, Spain and Italy it reached “unhealthy levels” earlier this week, Copernicus said.
