Rock legend Ringo Starr releases his new country album 'Look Up' featuring guest appearances by country music stars. The album is a testament to Starr's lifelong love for the genre, dating back to his 1970 album 'Beacoups of Blues.'

Ringo Starr , the legendary drummer of the Beatles , recently released a new country album titled “ Look Up .” The album features a star-studded lineup of guest appearances, including renowned musicians like Bill Strings, Molly Tuttle, Alison Krauss, the band Lucius, Willie Nelson’s longtime harmonica player Mickey Raphael, and Starr’s brother-in-law Joe Walsh. Starr’s foray into country music is not new.

His 1970 album, “Beacoups of Blues,” a country set recorded in Nashville, showcased his early inclination towards this genre. Starr, who celebrated his 84th birthday recently, performed at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville with a band assembled by renowned producer T Bone Burnett, who also produced “Look Up.” The performances were filmed for a special titled “Ringo & Friends at the Ryman,” scheduled to air on CBS in the spring. Starr and Burnett’s collaboration began unexpectedly. They had crossed paths several times at social gatherings over the years but only had brief interactions. It was only in November 2022, at a reading celebrating George Harrison’s widow Olivia’s book, that their conversations deepened. Burnett sent Starr a demo, a beautiful country track that inspired him to create a full-fledged country album. Starr credits Burnett's talent and inspiration for pushing him to record “Look Up,” his first full-length album since 2019.
