CHUGIAK, Alaska - January’s record-breaking snowfall totals left neighborhoods and the Glenn highway messy on Tuesdays. The Anchorage Police Department called the road conditions on the Glenn Highway “ “It’s dangerous.
You know, I mean, other people don’t realize how dangerous it is,” Glenn Allen Trombly, the owner of Snowman LLC, said. “That’s why they wind up in the ditch.” Trombly’s company specializes in plowing and sanding residential and commercial driveways. He said that his phone was ringing all day on Tuesday.“It doesn’t stop ringing,” Trombly said. “And I’ve already dumped my voicemail twice because otherwise I just can’t keep track of it.” When it comes to priority lots, Trombly said his team starts at larger commercial properties before moving onto other clients. “It takes two, three, four times as long sometimes to plow properties that have a lot of snow on them. So just, have some grace and give some leeway to people and hopefully we’ll get through the next snowstorm,” Trombly said.
