Ringgit retreats against dollar at opening
The ringgit opens lower against the US dollar as the greenback regains its strength amid the turbulence at Credit Suisse, triggering fears of a banking crisis. – EPA pic, March 16, 2023.
At 9am, the local note slipped to 4.5050/5115 versus the greenback from yesterday’s closing rate of 4.4810/4870. “Such dynamics have supported the value of the US dollar, resulting in the US Dollar Index gaining 1.1% to 104.736 points,” he told Bernama.
