Right-wing groups and a known extremist entity are planning a string of events in Portland, Oregon, this September—as Black Lives Matter protests continue in the city
at Portland demonstrations and several of the right-wing organized events brandishing weapons and fighting with leftists. The man who was shot and killed in Portland has since been identified as Aaron J. Danielson, a Trump caravan participant who was wearing a hat with the emblem of the right-wing Patriot Prayer group, which has clashed with Portland protesters in the past.Monday that police are looking into a regular attendee of the city’s Black Lives Matter protests as a homicide suspect.
A similarly politicized clash took place in Kenosha, Wisconsin, days before, when 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse, who drove in from Illinois with a semi-automatic weapon with the intention of helping police defend the city from protester violence, was suspected of shooting and killing two people. Rittenhouse was later identified as a Trump supporter.
