Community members in Riga raised money for a scholarship in memory of Jamieson Ritter, a Webster native who was killed on the Fourth of July.
At the Churchville Moose Lodge on Saturday, neighbors and friends gathered to show support to the family of fallen Webster native Cleveland police officer Jamieson Ritter .
Many there were raising money for the Ritter family and a scholarship started in Jamieson's name: The Jamieson Ritter Foundation. The Jamieson Ritter Foundation's aims to provide scholarship money to a graduating senior at McQuaid Jesuit looking to enter a career in law enforcement or the military, as Jamieson did.
While attempting to serve a warrant and arrest a suspect accused of felony assault, Ritter was shot and killed on Cleveland's east side on July 4. He was 27-years-old.
