An elderly rideshare driver was killed when a passenger gained control of his vehicle and ran him over multiple times on Baseline Road.
A 74-year-old rideshare driver was killed when he was run over multiple times with his own car by a female passenger.According to police, around 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21, they responded to a call for a pedestrian-involved crash near 40th Street and Baseline Road where they found Samuel Webster with severe injuries.Webster was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police determined from witnesses and video surveillance that Webster and his passenger got into an argument that escalated to the point where both occupants of the car exited the vehicle.The passenger, 31-year-old Jordan Spalding, then went back into the vehicle and allegedly ran over Webster multiple times.Authorities did not say what company the rideshare driver was with.According to court documents, Spalding claimed Webster tried to rape her.
