Despite not being in the first book, author Rick Riordan has revealed who will join the cast as Hermes in Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 1.
Even though the book series did not introduce Hermes until its second installment, it has been revealed that the god of merchants will be in the first season of the Disney+ Percy Jackson TV series. Author of the series Rick Riordan introduced Lin-Manuel Miranda as the newest member of the cast, and he will do so by taking up the winged sandals of Hermes. Miranda is beyond excited to take on the role, as he and his son are big fans of the source material.
Now you book fans may be thinking, “Wait a minute. Hermes doesn’t appear until the second book, The Sea of Monsters.” You are correct.
