Rick Pitino says new-look St. John's team still seeking vocal leader

Jenkins followed Pitino from Iona to St. John’s before last season and was an extension of Pitino on the court. He’s now with the Detroit Pistons. As for his backcourt, Pitino said he loves the trio of Richmond, who transferred from Seton Hall, Smith and Wilcher, the former Roselle Catholic star who played behind Jenkins last season.
“They met today on it,” he said. “The group that they hired is a big-time group and we make subtle changes to it.” “We’re going to reconfigure the place. Up top, you can’t sit, they have these little potty seats up top, so everything’s gotta be changed.
