“We have a lot more time to prepare to run a really full-blown Congressional race,” Coplen said. “A lot more time to perfect our message. A lot more time to raise money.” A West Point graduate, Coplen served in combat with the 82nd Airborne Division in Panama, as a V Corps peacekeeping soldier in Bosnia, and as a 2nd Infantry Division soldier on the Korean DMZ.
