The issue clarifies that "Birdperson" is functionally his name on the most meaningful level, but that he previously had a life on Earth as "Larry Adamson," and was even married to a human.
Birdperson Is Known Across the Galaxy Rick and Morty is masterful at presenting seemingly one-dimensional characters that the story then makes deeper, and Birdperson is the ultimate example of how and why this works so well.
